Getting to the conference venue

By foot:

Aarhus is a clean, compact, and well-organised city, which makes walking an excellent and enjoyable way to get around. To walk from the city centre to the university takes approximately 20-25 minutes.

By taxi:

There are several taxi ranks conveniently located around the city. The main rank is located outside the main train station. Alternatively, you can phone to book a taxi: DanTaxi (+45) 70 25 25 25 / Aarhus Taxa (+45) 89 48 48 48. You can also book a taxi via your hotel reception. Your destination is:

Lakeside Lecture Theatres, Aarhus University, Bartholins Allé 3, Building 1250, 8000 Aarhus C

By bus:

Midttrafik, the municipal bus company, runs the yellow buses in the city. The route number is indicated on the front and back of the bus, and the destination is displayed on the front and above the rear door. You can purchase a ticket on the bus from the ticket machine (coins only). Bus tickets for travels within the city limits (Municipality of Aarhus) cost DKK 20. Ten-ride tickets are also available, which vary in price depending on how far you want to go (available to purchase at the main train station or any kiosk). The following bus routes will bring you to the conference venue (departing near the main train station):

From Park Allé: 1A, 12, 14, 18

From Banegårdspladsen: 100, 200 (blue buses)

You should ask to get off at Aarhus Universitetshospital, Nørrebrogade. The Lakeside Lecture Theatres (Søauditorierne) are just a short walk from this stop on the opposite side of the road. The best option is to cross the road at the pedestrian crossing.

For more information on buses and routes, please check the Midttrafik website.

By bike:

Aarhus is ideal for bike riding since it is compact and holds many safe cycling paths. You can use any of the city bikes available from a designated cycle rack. You have to insert a DKK 20 coin to release the bike, which you get back once you return the bike to one of the designated cycle racks. The Aarhus Kommune website provides more information on how to and where to avail of this service. Many of the bike racks are located outside the popular tourist attractions.

By car:

It is possible to park your car at the conference venue (in the University Park/Universitetsparken). However, parking is restricted to 4 hours during the hours of 7am - 5pm, and parking spaces are limited. Please refer to the map of the University Park to learn more about parking possibilities for visitors. We would advise you to purchase a parking disc ('p-skive') in advance so that you can indicate your time of arrival and hence avoid any hefty parking fines. Parking discs can be purchased from the following shops: thansen, Bilka, Føtex and Kvickly.
